Countdown to clothes show live . . . . .

Well it is an exciting time here at Tartan Heart Photography HQ as this is the first year that we will be exhibiting at The Clothes Show Live in NEC Birmingham. In just 17 days we will be taking up stand number LX237 at the NEC Exhibition centre.

We are flying back soon to the UK to get ready for 5 days exhibiting and promoting our Model Portfolio Holiday Package. It's a very exciting time and even more so as I keep reading who will be attending and appearing there. Have to keep reminding myself that I am going to work and not just have a lovely jolly! And we will be working hard as they are 5 very long days!

Still, hard work is not something that we are adverse to here! We had 6 shoots last week and another 6 shoots this week with a function for the Royal British Legion on Saturday thrown in for good measure. It's coming up to Christmas Crazyiness and we have plenty of bookings so we will be expanding our Tartan Team with the lovely Ian & Lou! We hope to see you either UK or in beautiful birmingham!!!!

Fathers Day makes Facebook Frenzy!!!

The idea of "Daddy's Little Soldier" came about a couple of months ago but due to us being so busy we didn't get to launch it online until just 2 weeks before Fathers Day. The absolutely unique pictures of little ones in MTP combats and with genuine war zone backdrops proved to be a big hit with our customers and the 1st day of photo shoots were sold out in just 2 hours. Needless to say the 2nd day was booked up the very next day and we had the pleasure of the tiny troops marching into our studio on Sunday 9th and Wednesday 12th!

The package included a custom made Framed Print, Wallet sized print and a key-ring. We also gave the digital image as we believe that everyone should get their images to use as they wish! All packages were collected before Friday and it meant that Fathers Day was a huge success for many families at Dhekelia and Ayios Nik!

Danny then had the idea to launch a Facebook competition with the winner getting a large framed print and a 25 Euro voucher! Since the competition started just 24 hours ago we have seen the total of members in our group go from 486 to over 1200! Business is busier than ever and we could not be happier. It looks like Tartan Heart Photography has it's own little army! xx

Summer's Here!

Well the weather has well and truly turned into the lovely Cyprus Summer time! Enjoying the sunshine but not having lots of time to do so as it's getting to be a very busy time of the year.

We have had some beautiful weddings at the start of the wedding season and have more to come in June, July, August, September and last ones in October! If we stay away from the wedding cakes it will be great. Every wedding is different like every couple are different and its such a pleasure to be a part of their big day. Seeing their faces when they come to view their pictures is wonderful as most of the time we are in the background they don;t even realise we've taken the shot!

Along with this we have had lots of lovely families having beach shoots done which is so much fun! Building water castles and rolling around in the sand (and thats just us before they turn up!!!) it's a great way to get those natural expressions from the children enjoying their time here in Cyprus!

Happy times at work and a very happy studio here in Dhekelia. We are busy and loving it! So much so that we are in work today even though it's bank holiday!!!!

Busy start to the year!

Well it's been a very busy start to the new year with plenty of work going on!

Lots of Regimental pictures have been taken over the past 6 weeks and plenty of prints and frames ordered which has seen me clocking up the miles to and fro to the workshop! Along with Warrants wanting framed and canvases being ordered it's been fairly hectic.

We've also seen the start of the family shoots for this year with more being booked ready for the warm weather just around the corner.

It seems Dhekelia has quite a few new occupants as some gorgeous babies are having their first photo-shoots in the next few weeks now that we have some free studio time!

The Boudoir shoots are nearly all done for Valentines but we won;t be stopping them there so will run the package for those special times ie birthdays, anniversaries and of course if a loved one is away on ops!!!!

Moving on to the next special offers ready for Mothers Day so watch this space and i'll chat soon xx

It's OPENING TIME!!!!!

Well after many months of not so patiently waiting, our business licence paperwork has been signed and returned meaning we are ready to LAUNCH!!!!!!

We have decided that this will happen on Friday 7th December from 2pm and I'm so excited I can't even tell you! We have an absolutely manic week ahead getting the final details ready for Friday but as of Monday 10th we will have regular working hours and hopefully a couple of weeks business before the Christmas break.

For the launch we have decided to put on some special introductory offers for packages and gift vouchers which I will be announcing throughout the next few days on our Facebook Group Page.

Christmas and Party Time!!!!!

Well it's getting to that time of the year that means bye bye weekends, Hello Functions! Lots in the diary and busy times ahead. Keeping nice and local this year as we're still getting those early morning wake up calls thanks to a very young family but hey ho, it's all about the balance!

We've been starting our Christmas Packages which have gone really well. Nice to get them early so that people can get all their presents away before the last post!

I think the only thing I'll be asking Santa for this year is a nice amended business licence that says I can open the Studio as it's so close to being open it's untrue! Let's hope I'm on the good girl list eh!!!

The rain hit Sunny Cyprus and gave us an unexpected week off photography but we've got back to it nice and quick this week! Beach shoots aren't the same when it's pouring down although the lightening in the background would've been impressive! Still, the weather is back to it's normal hot, hot, hot and work is busy as ever!

We've had the fortune to have met some lovely families lately with some beautiful children which have been a complete pleasure to photograph. We are very much looking forward to starting to do the Baby shoots in November once the studio is licensed. It will be fun working with all the different props I keep adding to our collection lately! If I find some time I may even get round to doing a new shoot with my own little girls! That'll be just in time for Christmas and will make some great presents for the relatives back in the UK!

Bookings have been coming in for the Event Photography in the lead up to Christmas so there will be no time for Christmas shopping in December for me! I'll have to be super organised and get it done in November! Wish me luck!

Right, time to stop thinking about Santa and go back to some editing! Hopefully see you soon x

Well it's getting closer and closer to getting a studio and I couldn't be any more excited! I'm so looking forward to having our own studio which will open up so many more different services that we can offer! Not to mention a lovely little opening party I may be thinking of!

Apart from that it's been busy times since we got back from our holidays on Friday. It was great fun attending the 2RRF Cpl's Mess Summer Ball and Shaun and his lovely wife Louise did a fantastic job in organising the evening. We've posted a link to the photo's on Facebook and it seems everyone had a great time.

More family shoots are booked in this month and we have the Dhekelia Dash at the weekend as well. Then it'll be time to start to plan Christmas! My favourite time of the year!!!!!

A very wise man once said to me "In order to make progress, it is sometimes necessary to rest" and 20 years on I've decided to listen to him!

We have been working so hard lately but as of Saturday we will be taking a little trip "up north" and having some down time. Saying that, I will still be checking my emails and messages on a daily basis and have given myself 3 projects to complete before I return!!! So not really 100% rest but when you love your job, you don't seem to mind so much.

Things are still going great guns with the possibility of us getting a studio and I'm so excited! And we have 2 Events this month already which is always fun to do! The lovely 2RRF have got us for their delayed Summer Balls and we already have some Christmas dates booked. Can't believe I have to get the diary sorted for Christmas this early on!

Don't forget if you have a function with over 100 people attending then we will provide our service completely free of charge!!! Get your Christmas date booked fast!

Well who knew spending hours on Facebook would mean more work! Our new group on the fabulous social network has gone crazy this past week! Increasing the amount of members by 300% in the past few days has meant that our website and our work is reaching more and more people. Bookings and enquiries are keeping me glued to my work computer and it's been great having the buzz going around the place!

We are looking at putting together a "Baby Photo shoot" package as soon as the Studio opens and with the amount of beautiful babies around I'm sure it will be popular! Family photo shoots are going well and the beach sunset is proving very successful.

Our event photography is also getting bookings coming in as we are the only Event Photographers on the island with the Mitsubishi Click System, meaning pictures are printed in under 1 minute and given to the customer there and then! No more paying for the picture and waiting weeks for it to arrive! With Christmas coming up faster than Mo Farrah the diary is getting busy! Don't forget to get your bookings confirmed early as we don't want to disappoint!

I'm busy working tonight on getting the lovely Ellie Browns slideshow together and it's proving to be a really nice creative way to spend the bank holiday! It's so nice to see the pictures come together and adding the right sort of music (hopefully) it's a real pleasure to watch. I keep looking at some of the images and thinking just how lovely she looks and how proud her mum, Lisa, must be!

I do hope Ellie will let me use a couple as posters for the new studio! Hint hint!!!

On that note, things are moving so I'll keep you updated as to how we get on with announcing an opening day!

Right, now it's time for another coffee before I turn the computer off!!!

While I'm having a little holiday back in the uk it seems Danny has been busy back in Cyprus.

We are hopefully getting our new studio early September and already I'm thinking we may need a launch party! Lots of work to get it ready but very exciting times! Can't wait to get moved in with all the equipment and props! The scenery of Cyprus has always been an amazing location for photo shoots but for babies and that "classic" family shoot I've always loved the pure white background and fab lighting.

I will keep you updated but in the meantime check us out on Facebook.

Ready to launch????

Well, it's nearly time for us to launch Tartan-Heart Photography in the beautiful island of Cyprus!

The website is pretty much there and a few tweaks to the shopping lists and packages and it's almost good to go.

Hoping to get the bookings coming in for september and will be putting together our christmas packages real soon. Can you believe we are thinking about xmas already and its only august! I suppose I'd better get my shopping done early this year in case we're busy busy busy!!!

Right, off to keep tweaking!
